Cable Weight Variations
Hyper 1.3 and Uncoated Hyper – NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS.
Aircraft grade cable with PVC coating. Our lightest offering weighing only 1.3 ounces for a 9 foot length (excluding handles). Most comparable to traditional speed cables. The PVC coating does not retain memory and therefore uncoils nicely. This cable can produce the fastest cycle rate therefore the athlete must be extremely proficient at double unders. Recommended for advanced jumpers who can already turn 75+ double unders.
Ultra 1.8 – NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS
For anyone who can do between 75 and 100 double-unders in a row. At 1.8 ounces, this cable is light, meaning it spins quickly around your body. That’s great if you’re already quite comfortable jumping rope. If you’re still figuring out the best technique and rhythm, a heavier cable (either the Elite or Buff) is your best option. Made with the company’s signature aircraft-grade material.
Elite 2.6 – IDEAL FOR INTERMEDIATE
For anyone who can do between 75 and 100 double-unders in a row. At 2.6 ounces, this cable is light, meaning it spins quickly around your body. That’s great if you’re already quite comfortable jumping rope. If you’re still figuring out the best technique and rhythm, a heavier cable (either the Elite or Buff) is your best option. Made with the company’s signature aircraft-grade material.
Buff 3.4 – IDEAL FOR BEGINNERS TURNING LESS THAN 50 D/Us. IDEAL FOR ADVANCED LOOKING TO INCREASE INTENSITY.
For anyone who does under 50 double-unders in a row. At 3.4 ounces, this is the heaviest cable in our collection, and the added weight gives you added control. By allowing you to feel the tension and resistance of the rope, you have time to jump out of the way, thereby improving your technique and body awareness. Made with the company’s signature aircraft-grade material.

FAQ
Some of our most frequently asked questions. Please contact us directly with any other questions you may have.
LEARN MOREHow do I size my rope?
Your Height + 3 ft. (92cm) = Rope Length
It’s easy to find your jump rope size. Beginners, take your height (say, 5’9”) and add three feet (8’9”). As a quick spot check, you can fold the rope in two and put it under one foot. The cable (excluding the handles) should touch your sternum.
However, the height + 3 feet rule is meant to be a starting point. As your technique improves, and you begin to pull your elbows back and place your hands closer to your hips, you’ll be able to use a shorter rope.
I am on the cusp of 2 sizes, which one should I get?
Our sizing chart goes by your height plus 3 feet, which provides plenty of slack. So when on the cusp of 2 lengths we recommend the shorter one.
What if my cable frays?
Don't even worry! ...your jump rope is fine! Our durable handles are virtually indestructible. Our cables will need to be replaced occasionally. It's cheap and easy to do right here on our site! It's also important to use Key Wedgie or the Split Ring Pliers prevent breaking your nails.
Is there a difference between a speed rope and jump rope?
A speed rope is a more advanced version of a jump rope. Typically made out of lighter-weight materials, and built with more sophisticated handles that spin faster, speed ropes require more familiarity and skill than jump ropes. That’s especially true because the speed rope’s lack of resistance makes it difficult to track the wire moving around your body. Somewhat counter-intuitively, because speed ropes spin faster, they produce less intensity. If intensity is what you’re after, consider a jump rope, or better yet, a Drag Rope.
Why do my calves hurt during jump rope?
There are three main reasons why your calves might hurt during jump rope:
- Inadequate footwear: your shoes don’t provide enough cushioning for the balls of your feet
- Muscle fatigue: you’re either new to jumping or are doing more volume than you’re used to
- Overtraining: you haven’t recovered enough before jumping again
To reduce the pain:
- Wear proper shoes with enough cushioning
- Warm up with dynamic stretches and light cardio
- Loosen your calves with a lacrosse ball and foam roller
- Land softly on the balls of your feet with slightly bent knees
- Gradually increase the intensity and duration of your jump rope sessions
